Millennials or young voters are believed to play a very
important role in determining the success of general elections that will be
held on 17 April. It is estimated that there are around 40% of the votes coming
from the millennial generation.
Meanwhile, the passion of Islamic millennial generation is
increasing. But in its journey, the passion of Islam is actually used by
certain elements / groups for negative things such as radicalism, spreading
hatred and spreading lies, either through social media or through recitations.
A group of Youth who are members of the United Nations
Millennial Muslim (MMB) in East Java also provide support to Jokowi – Ma’ruf
Amin.
“We judge this Pak Joko Widodo – Ma’ruf Amin couple who
felt the lie the most. Whatever positive performance from Mr. Jokowi there is
always a negative in their eyes, “said Chairman of the United Millennial
Muslim General (MMB), Khairul Anam.
“Therefore, we who consist of millennial generation
activists, student activists, activists of millennial social activities meeting
in the United Millennial Muslim, together will fight these negative
things,” added Anam.
The declaration held at the Tunjungan Hotel was attended by
the Chairman of the Jokowi Regional Campaign Team (TKD) – Ma’ruf Amin for East
Java, Machfud Arifin.
“The support of the United Nations Millennial
Muslim is very extraordinary and will strengthen the Voice of Jokowi – Ma’ruf
Amin in East Java,” Machfud said.
Machfud said, later MMB would maximize Jokowi-Ma’uf’s support
from social media by spreading positive content at prime time hours.
“This is to ward off the bursts of hoaxes that
were blown by the side,” Machfud said.
In addition, positive content can provide enlightenment and
understanding to the community so that they can determine who the community
leaders can be chosen.
In addition MMB will also conduct persuasion activities and
will routinely hold recitations every week by inviting religious teachers as
mentors who truly support the Unitary Republic of Indonesia and objectively to
the success of President Jokowi’s figure.
Anam also stated that this declaration of support was due to
his view that Jokowi – Ma’ruf was the best for Indonesia and for Muslims.
In addition, Anam also stressed that he had felt the
development carried out for almost 5 years.
Jokowi is also considered a true Islamic leader who has
gained international recognition. He was never angry or behind insulting people
who deliberately slandered him to reduce credibility in the contestation of the
2019 Presidential Election.
“Pak Jokowi is an Islamic and populist leader, he
is never tired of serving his people from Sabang to Merauke, from the island of
Miangas to the island of Rote. In his hands, the price of fuel in Papua is the
same as in Java, Indonesia is also believed to be the second investment
destination in the world, and the ninth safest country in the world. At
present, our economic conditions are increasingly stable, “Anam said.
Meanwhile, the Volunteer Director of the Jokowi TKN National
Campaign Team, Maman Imanulhaq welcomed the declaration by Muslim millennial
friends united to support Jokowi – Amin.
Because these millennials are very significant in the 2019
Election, which is around 83 million who will give their voting rights in the
April 17 2019 Presidential Election.
Of course there are some things the millennial generation
must do. First, socializing Jokowi’s achievements. Second, warding off hoaxes
and slander that today still attacks the number 1 vice-presidential candidate
pair. Third, this millennial group is also expected to take more creative,
innovative actions so that all people know what Jokowi is doing and also what
Jokowi will do – Referring to the government of 2019-2024
Maman also told me that MMB had made a Vlog, then there were
also those who invited friends to enter the market, also millennial children
chatting in cafes and so on, including making programs called signs 1. For
example, the next day the theme of the debate was about environment, energy,
food sovereignty and infrastructure, the millennial friends will explain the
success of Jokowi’s infrastructure in their eyes as a millennial group.
The declaration program was attended by hundreds of
participants from millennial Muslims in several major cities in Indonesia.
Anam said, “We cannot remain silent in accepting the
burst of lies that will divide the nation. That is why we met in MMB and will
fight for Jokowi – Ma’ruf Amin as the best choice of the millennial Muslim
generation in the April 17 Presidential Election. “
In this 2019 Presidential Election, Jokowi was indeed
attacked by issues that were unpleasant, the utterances of hatred were
unstoppable, even the utterances of hatred towards Jokowi were echoed in places
of worship such as mosques.
What MMB does is certainly an example, that campaigns do not
have to indulge in hatred, campaigns can be done in creative ways without
carrying sensitive issues.
In addition, the existence of MMB also shows the existence of
political awareness for the younger generation, so that this can suppress the
apathy of the younger generation in using their voting rights in the 2019
election.
